Susan DeNicolo Art

Abstract Expressionism arrived like a wave to be ridden absolutely, in the 1940’s, the idea that the work of art existed as an action had become too liberating not to be explored to the fullest.

Painting a picture without a pre-established idea or project, letting the image emerge and reveal itself in the moment, almost like a self-confirmation of the artist’s existence as an active being. Reproducing, describing, analyzing any given object was not a matter of interest so much as the discovery of the unknown and the creation of compositions that could be contextualized only and thanks to the time and experienced. With field of color, the author is the center of what she produces and only in this way can she offer the public an honest conversation about painting and art.

Susan De Nicolo relies on this movement in a completely spontaneous way, her palette knives and brush strokes working with oil and acrylic colors to serve the artists imagination. Thus we are confronted with a joyful dance in bright and expressive colors, a sunny day at the seaside, a breath of fresh air, a flowery meadow.

Susan’s work can be admired and breathed in to immerse oneself with all the senses in her instinctual world of colors and joys, sunshine and clear skies. Intuitive art she happily shares with the world.
